Our department, which takes its first students in 2012-2013 education year, provides education in daytime and evening education. The language of education is Turkish.

Specific Admission Requirements
Those who have a high school diploma and who have enough scores in numerical field as a result of the exams made by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) are accepted as students to Erzurum Technical University Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
For the students who want to undergraduate transfer to the Erzurum Technical University Mechanical Engineering Program from Higher Education Institutions in Turkey and foreign countries, Regulations Regarding the Principles of Transition between the Associate and Bachelor's Degree Programs at the Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor with Intermediary Institutional Credit Transfer and relevant principles with graduate transfer determined by the University Senate are applied. The provisions of the Regulations Regarding the Continuation of Undergraduate Studies of Vocational Schools and Open Education Associate Degree Programs and the principles determined by the University Senate are applied for the graduates of Vocational Schools who want to external transition to the undergraduate degree programs related to the associated degrees.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students who are enrolled in this program must successfully complete all courses in order to graduate and have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00. The minimum ECTS that must be earned for graduation is 240. Students are also required to successfully complete their compulsory internship at the same time.
Profile of The Programme
The aim of the program is to graduate the engineers who; • are active in professional practice • develop themselves by continuous learning • have strong communication skills • have ability of doing team work • take part in multidisciplinary environments • have acquired their research and development cultures by combining current scientific and technological developments to produce effective solutions to engineering problems in their working lives • look for realistic and economical solutions that are sensitive to environmental problems, considering ethical and social principles in their engineering lives • are preferred in new technology and product development fields due to their scientific background. For this aim, the program offers courses in basic mathematics and science, technical drawing, engineering mechanics, computer aided modeling, thermodynamics, energy systems, manufacturing and construction, machine theory and dynamics, and automotive. Lessons are supported by modern educational tools.

Mechanical Engineering is a profession that is highly demanded by the industrial enterprises, (manufacturing industry, automotive, construction sector, chemical-food-medicine industry, energy sector, textile sector) private engineering departments, academic fields and public institutions in today's world that develops from industrial and technological point of view and in our country. It is possible to sort out the duties and career opportunities that graduates will have to undertake in their respective institutions and organizations: project engineer, design engineer, automation and control systems engineer, quality assurance officer, R and D engineer, new product development, material analysis, repair.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Regarding the examinations and course grades, the related articles of Erzurum Technical University Undergraduate Education-Examination and Examination Regulations (http://www.erzurum.edu.tr/Content/eng/index.html) are applied. In our department, the passing grade is DD and the graduation grade is CC. The measurement and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the Course Information Package which is prepared by the related faculty member / lecturers and included in the information package.
Graduation Requirements
The student must successfully complete all courses in order to graduate from this 4 years program. Students who successfully complete all the courses in this program, who have successfully completed their internship, who have a minimum of 240 ECTS credits and whose GPA is at least 2.00 out of 4.00 are awarded with BSc in Mechanical Engineering.

Facilities
The program carries out education and research activities with 4 professors, 1 associate professor, 5 assistant professors and 10 research assistants. Mechanical engineering department provides services with qualified and experienced academic and technical staff, research facilities in advanced laboratories and cooperation with public and private sector organizations at local, regional, national and international levels.

1 to have knowledge of mathematics, science and basic engineering and to use it in mechanical engineering applications
2 Ability to identify, define, formulate and solve complex engineering problems and to be able to choose and apply appropriate analysis and modeling methods in mechanical engineering for this purpose

5 Ability to select, develop and design a machine, component, system or process to provide expected performance, manufacturing features, economics and efficiency
