Our department was established in 2014-2015 academic year.

Those who have successfully completed the PhD program in Civil Engineering will have a PhD degree in Civil Engineering.

Specific Admission Requirements
1- The applications for the graduate program and the evaluation of the applicants are evaluated by the related institute directorate. 2- At the end of each semester, each department proposes application conditions to the institute for the students that will be accepted to the graduate programs in the next semester. These proposals are evaluated and announced by the institute board 3. Applications shall be made to the related institute directorate within the period of application with the documents stated in the application announcement. The documents required for the application are accepted as original or as certified by the institute. With regard to the military service and the forensic record, the procedure is based on the candidate's statement.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Students who have completed a master's degree in the Civil Engineering program are directly accepted to the program when they meet the conditions stated in the regulation.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
A student is required to successfully complete a minimum of 7 courses, not less than 21 credits, and one course including scientific research techniques, research and publication ethic (if the master's program did not include the course), pass a qualifying examination and write and defend a Thesis.
Profile of The Programme
Civil engineering is a broad engineering discipline with a curriculum providing a strong foundation in mathematics and physics followed by in-depth education in mechanics, structures, transportation, geotechnical engineering, hydraulics. The main objective of the programme is to provide the required knowledge for the rapidly developing science and technology, and to graduate expert engineers having the ability to make search and development.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
They work as specialists in various public institutions, private companies, research centers or as academicians in higher education institutions in Turkey or abroad.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates who succesfully completed doctorate degree may apply to both in the same or related disciplines in higher education institutions at home or abroad to get a position in academic staff or to governmental R and D centres to get expert position.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
It is obligatory to attend at least 70% of the courses taken in the M.Sc. programs within the semester. Success is evaluated by measuring midterm (homeworks, midterms) and final examination. These exams may be written, oral, or both written and oral and/or practical. At least one midterm exam is given for each course. Detailed explanations about the measurement and evaluation of the success of the courses are provided on the Course Information Package page.
Graduation Requirements
PhD Degree is given to students who - complete at least 21 credits, 7 different courses and a seminar course, - complete 240 ECTS credits, - pass the doctoral qualification examination - prepare doctoral thesis and pass thesis defense examination.

Facilities
There is a library in our faculty. Department of Civil Engineering has Soil Mechanics, Hydraulics, Transportation, Structural Mechanics and Construction Materials Research Laboratories. Our faculty has 3 fully equipped student computer laboratory, 3 graduate student study classes, 6 project study rooms. The department has 1 associate professor, 8 assistant professors and 5 research assistants.

1 Realize acquisition of advanced knowledge with awareness the necessity of advanced knowledge and lifelong learning related to the major by using experiences obtained from master education
2 Innovation in research studies of the major, science redound a new method to science or apply a known-method to a new and different area
3 Obtain individual results by conducting information about the major to multi-disciplinary subjects and synthesizing and analyzing new and multi-purpose ideas
4 Be able to publish their own studies in national and international science citation index magazines
5 Be able to be a leadership in the area that requires to resolve individual and interdisciplinary problems
6 Develop new ideas and methods related to the major using high-level mental processes such as creativeness, judgmental and instantaneous finding a solution
7 Find out solution techniques encountered in practical, scientific and ethical problems by getting support from their studies related to the major
8 Communicate and discuss an advanced level topic orally, in written and visually by using at least one foreign language
9 Have knowledge at an advanced level in order to understand the effects of the solution of problems encountered in practical application on universal and social content
