Specific Admission Requirements
Students who have a high school and a balanced school diploma and who prefer the department and who have enough points in the relevant field of the Undergraduate Placement Examination (LYS) made by the Center for Measurement, Selection and Placement (ÖSYM) may register. From the third semester, the department also accept students through vertical transfer (for short cycle graduates) and horizontal transfer (both from Civil Engineering departments of other universities and other departments within our university, accepted by the Department of Civil Engineering).
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Students enrolled in the program can be exempted from the courses they have achieved in the higher education institutions they have already studied. Also; An exemption examination is opened at the beginning of each academic year for the foreign language course and the proposals of the relevant committees and courses approved by Senate. Students who score enough on the exemption exam are exempt from these courses.

In order to be able to graduate from the program, students who successfully complete the courses in the training plan (240 ECTS) and Sector Applications (60 business days) and have a weighted GPA of at least 2.00 are eligible for graduation.
Profile of The Programme
The Department of Civil Engineering aims to provide students with all kinds of written and oral communication skills as well as the knowledge and application skills required by the field in order to provide a wide range of career opportunities to their students through an appropriate training program. 1) To develop a training program acording to the needs of industry, education and the public sector and to renew itself 2) To be involved in accreditation and evaluation programs to develop national and international recognition 3) To have an educational staff composed of well-known scientists
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Graduates of the Department of Civil Engineering take a professional role in both public and private sectors. They are employed in the positions as civil engineer, inspector, assistant inspector, specialist etc in civilian and military. The graduates take a position in public institutions and establishments operating in many different areas, including General Directorate of Highways, DSİ Directorates, Metropolitan and district municipalities and Universities' Construction Works Departments. However, civil engineers can work freely in companies that provide contracting and consulting services; may take part in the relevant units of the universities as academic staff
Access to Further Studies
Students who Successfully completed an undergraduate degree, may apply for graduate programs at universities. Each of the university admissions process may be different. Upon successful completion of undergraduate degree, if they have sufficient knowledge of foreign languages and take enough note of ALES, graduates may enroll in graduate programs of their divisions or related areas
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
In the Department of Civil Engineering, at least 1 midterm exam and 1 final exam are applied in each academic semester. Except for exams, they intern institute or private organization which employ Civil engineer. This section has explained in course description and application form of releated course. For further information see the releated course in course plan section. Exam evaluations are carried out according to ETU Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations

Facilities
There is a library in our faculty. Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering; Soil Mechanics, Hydraulics, Transportation, Mechanics and Materials Laboratory. There are 3 computer laboratories allocated for the use of the Engineering Faculty students in lessons and at other times. The department students benefit from these computer labs, so that each student uses a computer. Also, our faculty has 3 graduate student study classes, 6 project study rooms. The department has 1 associate professor, 8 assistant professors and 5 research assistants.
