Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences - Business Administration

History
The Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences was founded on 14th July 2010. The faculty contains seven departments; namely, Economics, Business Administration, Political Science and Public Administration, Econometrics, Public Finance, Banking-Finance, International Trade, and Logistics. The Department of Business Administration has undergraduate programme, and the Department of Economics has also MSc. and PhD programmes in addition its undergraduate programme.
Qualification Awarded
The Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration is awarded to the graduates who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum.

Specific Admission Requirements
In order to gain admission to the undergraduate programmes in the Erzurum Technical University, students have to take a university entrance exam administered by Student Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Graduates of Vocational Schools who succeed in the vertical transfer examination can also be admitted to continue their education in order to obtain a bachelor’s degree. Additionally, international students are subject to the university’s Foreign Students Directive regarding the admission requirements
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
The rules for the recognition of prior learning are governed according to the university’s several directives: The Intra and Inter-Agency Transfer Directive, the Double Major and Minor Programs Directive, the Special (Guest) Students Directive, and the Exemptions and Adaptation Directive.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Students have to obtain a grade point average of at least 2.00 out of 4.00 and successfully pass all courses on the programme (equivalent to a total of 240 ECTS). Students have to also complete their compulsory internship.
Profile of The Programme
The Department of Business Administration aims to graduate high qualified students who have the ability to analytically think and do synthesis by taking the theoretical knowledge of Business Administration at the centre. Graduates with this qualification will highly demanded by employers. To achieve this goal, the department has developed a flexible and innovative undergraduate programme containing several elective courses. The programme has been arranged as 4 years and 8 terms. The programme has also compulsory English Courses covering its 8 terms in order to improve students’ English skills.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
It is aimed that graduates from the Department of Business Administration will have the ability to analytically evaluate the problems related to economic affairs and to propose convincing solutions to them. If they graduate with this ability, they can be easily employed as specialists and administrators in the governmental institutions and organizations, in the finance and banking sector, audit companies and international companies. They can also pursue an academic career.
Access to Further Studies
The graduates holding a bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply to master’s degree programmes at national level and /or international level both in the same and in related disciplines. However, the graduates should have sufficient knowledge of foreign language and pass the exam of "ALES" in Turkey.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Assessment and grading in the Department of Business Administration is carried out according to the university’s Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation and particularly according to the following articles of the regulation: 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28 ve 29.
Graduation Requirements
To be able to graduate, students have to meet the conditions set out by the Article 41 of the Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulation.

Facilities
The department provides facilities such as symposium, conferences, panels through which students have a chance to put their theoretical knowledge into practice. The department has also sufficient physical facilities such as library, entrepreneurship laboratory and classes supported by technological equipment. We are also part of different student exchange programmes (Erasmus+, PAX, Mevlana and Farabi) through which students might visit other national or international universities during their studentship. Additionally, students might benefit from social and sportive activities (e.g. football, basketball, ice hockey, folk dancing etc.) and student clubs.

Faculty Working Mode
1 Students have the advanced theoretical and practical knowledge provided by the course materials containing the updated information, the research methods and techniques applied in the field studies, and other sources.
2 Students have information on the fields: market research, consumer behaviour, marketing mix, marketing strategies, demand forecasting, market segmentation, strategic marketing, relationship marketing, global markets, information systems, business behaviour, product and service strategies, product life curve pricing, supply chain, manufacturing management, and innovation.
3 Students can sufficiently use Turkish and English (if necessary) verbally and in written to express their knowledge and experiences related to their duties in any of the major business management functions: production, marketing, accounting, or finance
4 Students can carry out the relevant researches, make a contribution to the relevant projects and behave according to the project objectives while taking duties and responsibilities in any of the major functions of business management: production, marketing, accounting, or finance
5 Students can determine the missions and goals of enterprises, evaluate these enterprises’ positions in the market, and propose suggestions to strengthen their positions while taking duties and responsibilities in any of the major functions of business management: production, marketing, accounting, or finance
6 Students can analytically evaluate their knowledge and skills which are acquired while taking duties and responsibilities in any of the major functions of business management: production, marketing, accounting, or finance
7 Students see the importance of innovation and life-long learning and behave accordingly while taking duties and responsibilities in any of the major functions of business management: production, marketing, accounting, or finance
8 Students have knowledge of the functions of the business management: planning, execution, organization, and coordination, and of the strategic, tactical and operational dimensions of the business management. They can analyse the organizational structure of an enterprise. They follow national and international developments in the field of business management. They also have knowledge of entrepreneurship.
9 Students can effectively use the necessary information technologies while taking duties and responsibilities in any of the major functions of business management: production, marketing, accounting, or finance
10 Students have knowledge of the functions of the business management: planning, execution, organization, and coordination, and of the strategic, tactical and operational dimensions of the business management. They can analyse the organizational structure of an enterprise. They follow national and international developments in the field of business management. They have also knowledge of entrepreneurship
11 Students have knowledge in the fields of mathematics, statistics and econometrics. They can make more rational decisions through statistical and econometric evaluations stemming from numeric data, anticipate the outcomes of these decisions, and develop more strategic positions towards these anticipated outcomes by causally thinking about them.
12 Students have the awareness of the universal human rights, social justice, the importance of quality, the importance of the protection of the environmental and cultural values, and the importance of the occupational health and safety
13 Students are open to share their professional experiences and promote professional solidarity with their colleagues in any of the major functions of business management: production, marketing, accounting, or finance where they take duties
14 Students have knowledge of the basic concepts of finance, financial markets, financial analysis and planning, working capital management, capital budgeting, the evaluation of investment projects, and the financial decisions in the short and long run. They can evaluate investment projects and use this evaluation in analysing the relevant enterprises
15 Students knows basic accounting concepts and accounting for transactions in business. They can analyse the fiscal and financial situations of enterprises. They have theoretical knowledge of the issues related to costs and can use this knowledge in practice
16 Students have sufficient knowledge of micro/macro-economics and they can evaluate economic developments in line with this knowledge
